ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The parliamentary cooperation between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina should prompt political and governmental subjects to try solve concrete vital problems of citizens of both countries, regardless of their

ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The parliamentary cooperation between
Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina should prompt political and
governmental subjects to try solve concrete vital problems of
citizens of both countries, regardless of their ethnic origins,
said Sabor Speaker Zlatko Tomcic on Thursday.
Following his meeting with a delegation of Bosnian assembly's House
of Representatives' international affairs and foreign policy
commission, Tomcic gave a brief statement to reporters.
The Croatian national parliament's head said that the during the
talks the two parties had agreed that the most urgent problems which
should immediately be settled is refugee returns.
"We have very clearly identified, although it was on the basis of
principle, that a basic problem of south eastern Europe is to
stabilise the situation both in Croatia an Bosnia in such way that
all refugees may come home," Tomcic said.
The Croatian official said this sounded very nice at the rhetorical
level but admitted that "mechanisms should really be found for the
accomplishment of this goal."
In this sense we have launched an initiative to set up a joint group
of the two parliaments which will hold regular sessions to consider
and give incentives for the settlement of those issues in the
relations between Croatia and Bosnia, he added.
The Bosnian delegation's head, Branko Dokic, voiced satisfaction
with the fact that this was the first official visit of a Bosnian
parliamentary delegation to Zagreb. Dokic said he hoped this would
mark the beginning of "different relations between Bosnia and
Croatia compared to the period behind us."
We reached consensus to talk about very concrete and pragmatic
issues, and in this context we considered the problems of refugees
and pensions as well as property relations.
Dokic expressed the hope that this would be new and different
cooperation between Zagreb and Sarajevo "which will continuously
last with the aim of creating conditions for stability in the region
and for the implementation of the Stability Pact for South Eastern
Europe in which both countries see their chances for the economic
recovery."
