PRESIDENT OF CRO SABOR RECEIVES DELEGATION OF BAVARIAN INTERIOR MINISTRY

ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - President of the Croatian National Sabor Zlatko Tomcic and Secretary of State of the Bavarian Interior Ministry Hermann Regensburger on Thursday in Zagreb expressed interest in cooperation between the two countries' police in the prevention of crime. Tomcic received Regensburger, who is heading a delegation of the Bavarian Interior Ministry. During the talks, the two officials expressed interest in cooperation between Croatian and Bavarian police in order to prevent crimes which are not familiar with borders, the Croatian National Sabor Public Relations Office reported. Regensburger stressed that Croats in Bavaria were a well-respected national group, whom police has not trouble with. Bavarians are ready to help in drafting laws in order for the Croatian legislation, regarding the Interior Ministry, to be in line with European regulations, Regensburger said. The population of Bavaria is 12 million, and there are 32,000 police officers, while Croatia has 16,000 police officers. Bavaria is trying to decrease the number of policemen and increase their salaries, in order to improve the efficiency of police and protect them from corruption. (hina) it mm
