PRESIDENT MESIC RECEIVES GERMAN BUSINESSMEN

ZAGREB, April 4 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday received a delegation of German businessmen from the Toenisstein circle, the President's public relations office said in a statement today. The Toenisstein circle is a respectable informal society of German businessmen and intellectuals who work on the promotion of the international scientific and economic cooperation between Germany and other countries. Once a year its delegation visits a country assessed to have potentials for furthering cooperation with Germany, and such tour is organised with help of German embassies and Foreign Ministry. This year, the Germans' destination has been Croatia. They have recognised great but still not sufficiently exploited possibilities for investment in and economic cooperation with Croatia, read the statement. President Mesic informed the guests of Croatia's strategic objectives in the foreign policy, internal affairs and economy - the country's expeditious accession to EuroAtlantic integration structures, democratisation and the rule of law, the fast economic growth and cuts in the unemployment rate and improvement of Croatians' standard of living.
