ZAGREB, March 23 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP), who have a majority at the House of Counties, on Thursday continued their harsh criticism of the Government's
refusal of yesterday to voice its opinion on amendments by the upper house representatives to the draft budget for 2000. It was an act of unprecedented violence over democracy in parliamentary work, HDZ's Ivan Brlekovic and HSP's Miroslav Rozic said in continuation of the 39th session. After it refused the draft budget for 2000 in the first reading last week, the upper house adopted the draft last night. The house also adopted the majority of some 170 amendments on which the Government's representative did not comment saying the Government did not authorise him.(hina) jn rml
