Poncet and Arlovic agreed that in the future they would work on strengthening cooperation in adopting laws pertaining to the action of the OSCE Mission in Croatia. This means that representatives of the OSCE would be present at sessions of some parliament working bodies, the statement said. Arlovic thanked the mission for its assistance with regard to the return of refugees, but held that issues must be solved on the field. He indicated further difficulties Croatia was facing in implementing international agreements, and the fact that the OSCE had not yet fulfilled its obligations, the statement said, adding that the two had agreed that the return of displaced persons was on national interest for Croatia.
