ZAGREB, Feb 2 (Hina) - The director of the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP), Stipe Hrkac, stated on Wednesday he had received neither a written nor a verbal request by Economy and Privatisation Minister Goranko Fizulic that he make
his office available or tender his resignation. Fizulic told reporters at a news conference yesterday that he requested Hrkac's resignation because Hrkac had failed to make his office available. According to the Law on the HFP, it is the Government that appoints and replaces the HFP president, Hrkac said in a statement, adding he did not have any illusions regarding his position. Hrkac said his statement was aimed at correcting Fizulic's false statement, adding in the past days he had been compiling a report on the HFP's work for the Government and a competent ministry, with the aim of facilitating the hand-over of authority.(hina) rml
