ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament will vote on about 400 amendments to the draft state budget for 2002, and on the government's 76.887 billion kuna budget itself Tuesday. The parliament is entering the last regular
working week in 2001 by voting on the state's most important annual financial document. The government also proposed its amendments whereby it, among other things, demands that it be provided internal reallocation of up to one percent of budgetary expenditures. The government is justifying such request with a wish to support further reforms, particularly those in agriculture. Sticking by its option that a total budgetary amount not be exceeded, yet wishing to meet a part of the requests, the government proposed that an additional 100 million kuna be secured for the regional development fund, 67 million for the judiciary, three million for national minorities, and 20 million for compensation to Esuli. ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament will vote on about
400 amendments to the draft state budget for 2002, and on the
government's 76.887 billion kuna budget itself Tuesday.
The parliament is entering the last regular working week in 2001 by
voting on the state's most important annual financial document.
The government also proposed its amendments whereby it, among other
things, demands that it be provided internal reallocation of up to
one percent of budgetary expenditures. The government is
justifying such request with a wish to support further reforms,
particularly those in agriculture.
Sticking by its option that a total budgetary amount not be
exceeded, yet wishing to meet a part of the requests, the government
proposed that an additional 100 million kuna be secured for the
regional development fund, 67 million for the judiciary, three
million for national minorities, and 20 million for compensation to
Esuli.
The government is also suggesting an increase of funds for science,
that is, projects in the sector, in the amount of 50 million kuna.
On the other hand, it demands that all ministries cut down expenses
of business trips, representation, office material (a total of 93
million), and that another 141 million kuna be saved from a range of
other expenses.
