ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - The leaders of the ruling coalition's five
parties met on Wednesday to discuss the draft state budget for next
year.
There were no official statements after the meeting, but according
to unofficial reports they agreed to debate the draft budget one
more time, after the "debate develops" in parliament and the
parliamentary benches' views of the draft were more defined.
Parliament should pass the final decision on the budget on Dec. 11.
The ruling coalition's five leaders also discussed a motion by the
opposition's Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) to deny confidence in
Public Works, Reconstruction and Construction Minister Radimir
Cacic.
The benches of the coalition parties will probably back Cacic.
The HDZ motion comes in the wake of Cacic's statements that
parliament was a natural environment for Christian Democrat (HKDU)
MP Ante Kovacevic's foul language, and that Croatia had carried out
an aggressive policy towards Bosnia.
The latter statement is contrary to parliament's declaration on the
1990s Homeland War, the HDZ maintains.
