the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Croatia will advocate the view
that the border between the former Yugoslav republics of Croatia
and Serbia is an internationally recognised border, the head of the

said in Sarengrad near Ilok on Friday.
"Croatia's position is clear, but it is difficult to predict in

area of Sarengrad, which includes a river islet on the Danube,
disputed territory which belongs to Croatia according to land
registers but has been under the control of the Yugoslav

Also contentious are another river islet on the Danube at Vukovar
and land at Principovac near Ilok, also under the control of the
Yugoslav Army.
Vukovar-Srijem County Prefect Nikola Safer says around 10,000
hectares of land on the Yugoslav territory belong to Croatia while
Yugoslavia claims some 1,000 hectares of land on Croatia's
territory.
The Croatian-Yugoslav border is around 280 kilometres long and runs
from Batina in the north to a tri-border point between Yugoslavia,
Bosnia and Croatia in the south.
