ZAGREB, July 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Interior Ministry refused to
comment on Friday afternoon on a warrant for the arrest of one of the
two Croatian citizens wanted by the Hague war crimes tribunal,
which was issued by a Zagreb County Court investigating judge
today.
The Zagreb County Court issued a statement today saying it had
received from the Justice Ministry a sealed indictment of the Hague
war crimes tribunal against a Croatian citizen, after which it
issued a warrant for his arrest. The court refused to state the name
of the wanted person since the indictment is sealed.
The media speculate that the two sealed indictments which the Hague
tribunal forwarded to the Croatian government on June 8 this year
refer to retired general Ante Gotovina and active general Rahim
Ademi, who said that he was willing to go to The Hague voluntarily if
his name was on one of the two indictments.
A source close to Ademi said today Ademi would surrender to the
tribunal voluntarily. The same source refused to say when and how
Ademi would travel to The Hague.
