ZAGREB, July 6 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Friday elected 11 members to the Sate Judicial Council (DSV). From the rank of judges, the elected are Jakob Miletic (the Supreme Court), Stanko Hauzt (the Supreme Court), Zdravko
Momcinovic (the Higher Commercial Court), Spomenka Zanjko-Kolman (the Cakovec Magistrates' Court), Branko Hrvatin (the Zagreb County Court), Eugen Missoni (the Dubrovnik County Court), Renata Santek (the Zagreb Municipal Court). From the rank of attorneys, the elected are Drazen Matijevic (Osijek attorney) and Ranko Pelicaric (Zagreb attorney). Among the university professors, the elected are Anita Kurtovic (The Split Faculty of Law) and Petar Novoselec (The Zagreb Faculty of Law). The DSV candidates were appointed by the Board of Justice taking the professional opinion, regional representation and representation of women into consideration. Court), Stanko Hauzt (the Supreme Court), Zdravko Momcinovic (the
Higher Commercial Court), Spomenka Zanjko-Kolman (the Cakovec
Magistrates' Court), Branko Hrvatin (the Zagreb County Court),
Eugen Missoni (the Dubrovnik County Court), Renata Santek (the
Zagreb Municipal Court). From the rank of attorneys, the elected

The DSV candidates were appointed by the Board of Justice taking the
professional opinion, regional representation and representation
of women into consideration.
The new DSV composition was elected by the majority of the vote (95
in favour, and two against).
Parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic congratulated the newly appointed
officials.
In today's follow up of the 13th session, the parliament also voted
on another ten previously discussed legal acts. The parliament
passed amendments to a law on foundations and a law on disabled
persons' register.
The government's bills on new identification cards and insurance
have been forwarded to the second reading.
The parliament, however, failed to adopt the motion submitted by
Jadranka Kosor of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) under which
the maternity leave compensations should return to last year's
level, by amending a state budget execution law.
The parliament adopted a motion on the national policy for the
promotion of equality among sexes, entrusting the government to,
along with the final version of the document, submit a motion on
measures for its implementation.
The parliament also adopted the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction
and Development's (HBOR) financial report for the year 2000, as
well as a report on the work of the agency for the protection of
market competition.
The parliament continued its session with a discussion on two
motions submitted by the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) -
amendments to the maritime code and a draft decision on the
declaration of Croatia's economic belt in the Adriatic.
