VUKOVAR, March 22 (Hina) - Representatives of the eastern Croatian Vukovar-Srijem County met in Vukovar on Thursday a representative of Italy's Friuli-Guilia region and Italian Ambassador Fabio Pigliapocco, with whom they discussed
possibilities of economic cooperation and an Italian government project of assistance for Croatia's eastern counties. Ambassador Pigliapocco said the Italian government had granted an initial seven million German marks for a project of assistance to Vukovar-Srijem and Osijek-Baranja counties, which would be implemented by the Friuli-Giulia region. The ambassador said concrete projects of economic assistance to the two eastern Slavonian counties did not exist yet but it was known that they would include small and medium businesses and social care.
