ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Mladen Pavicic, a professor of physics at Zagreb's Faculty of Civil Engineering, was on Thursday elected president of the Club of Croatian Humboldts which gathers Croatian scholars, former scholarship
students of the renowned German foundation "Alexander von Humboldt". Pavicic said at the electoral assembly he will try to breathe life into the activities of the Club by organising lectures and conferences which will be attended by prestigious scholars and members of the Humboldt clubs from neighbouring countries. He said he also expected assistance from the German Embassy in Croatia which has already expressed readiness to provide help. Technical assistance, such as financing computer equipment, will be provided by the "Alexander von Humboldt" foundation itself, via sponsors who support the foundation, Pavicic said.(hina) lml
