BELGRADE, March 1 (Hina) - Spokeswoman of Belgrade's UNHCR office Maki Shinohara on Thursday said that since 1996 about 6,800 refugees had returned to Croatia from Yugoslavia though the mediation of this international humanitarian
organisation. At a regular UNHCR press conference in Belgrade Shinohara said that since 1992, about 20,000 refugees had returned from Yugoslavia to third countries through the mediation of the UNHCR. She welcomed the recent passing of Yugoslavia's law on dual citizenship. Shinohara called upon all refugees from Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina in Yugoslavia to participate in the census to start on March 9, reminding that the last consensus was conducted in 1996.
