Earlier in the day the protesters allowed policemen to remove buses
from the main entrance and the shop pursuant to a court order.
According to a union leader, Mario Ivekovic, the workers decided to
mount yet another blockade as the court executor overstepped his
authorities and ordered the de-blocking of buses which were not
covered by the court order.
The protesters for the first time blockaded the main entrance on 5
November, insisting on the replacement of the current managing
board and the appointment of acting managers who would run the
company until the completion of court proceedings being led against
the former CEO, Leon Sulic, on suspicion of his involvement in
wrongdoing.
The protesters accuse L. Sulic of tax evasion, the embezzlement of
60 million German marks (some 30 million euros) from the company and
other cases of wrongdoing.
Trpimir Sulic, Leon's son and a member of the managing board, on
Tuesday again refuted the allegations levelled against his father,
labelling them as "utter lies".
Sulic Jr. announced he would ask for the de-blockade of the
remaining buses owned by "Croatia Bus", as this was envisaged, he
said, in the court order.
He asserted that the company was losing between 80,000 and 90,000
kuna (approximately 11,500 euros) every day during this protest.
