ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - The Croatian government is expected to sign
separate agreements on issues of joint interest with the Serb
Orthodox Church and the Islamic Community in Croatia by the end of
this year. #L#
Draft agreements between the government, the Serb Orthodox Church
and the Islamic Community have been harmonised, and the
government's commission for relations with religious communities
expects the said religious communities to accept the drafts before
the signing.
Officials of the commission declined to speak about the contents of
the documents, as it was agreed that nothing should be revealed
before the signing.
It was only said that the two documents regulated issues which
Zagreb had already regulated with the Vatican and the Catholic
Church.
The Baptist news agency on Wednesday reported that the executive
committee of the association of Baptist churches decided to forward
a request to the Croatian government to conclude a separate
agreement facilitating the resolution of some of the association's
specific needs.
