"For two years we have had a service which deals exclusively with
the control of the content of containers. We analyse all documents
on the cargo and the ships' papers," the director of the Koper
customs office, Milan Bogatic, told Slovene television on
Thursday.
He was surprised that Slovenia and Koper had appeared on the list of
transgressors of U.N. sanctions against Iraq , which the Guardian
mentions quoting an International Crisis Group report.
In an article about Serbia's illegal sale of arms and knowhow to
Saddam Hussein, the British newspaper mentions Koper as a channel
where documents are forged to disguise the origin of the cargo.
