ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Journalists' Association (HND)
branch at Croatian Television (HTV) on Friday demanded that HTV
editor-in-chief Jasna Ulaga-Valic and her editorial team submit
resignations or be relieved of duty by the Croatian Radio
Television (HRT) Council. #L#
The request for Ulaga-Valic's resignation, which notes
journalists' concern over the fate of HTV and "the dramatic
escalation of chaos in the television programme", was forwarded to
the Sabor, which is HRT's founder and owner.
The request was prompted by the recent resignation of most editors
in the programme council, which the branch claims has caused "chaos
in programme and editorial policies that is reaching dramatic
proportions".
"If neither of these occur, we will ask that the Sabor, as the
founder and owner of HRT, prevent the abuse of public interest and
protect HRT as public property," reads the letter, signed by the
president of the HND branch, Velimir Djuretic.
