"I shall accept the resignations tendered by colleagues Damir
Matkovic, Oliver Drazic, Katja Kusec, Branko Schmidt, and Jasmina
Bozinovska-Zivalj, and propose that they be relieved of duty at the
next session of the HRT (Croatian Radio and Television) Council,"
Ulaga-Valic told Hina after meeting the editors.
Ten HTV editors have handed in their resignations today due to
constant disagreement and lack of communication in decision-making
with Ulaga-Valic regarding the programme, they claim.
They criticise her, among other things, of the arbitrary
appointment of journalist Zoran Sprajc as editor of the prime-time
newscast, Dnevnik.
"I resolutely stand by my decision that Sprajc remain Dnevnik's
editor. He has been a HTV employee for many years, is an excellent
journalist and deserves a chance," she said.
