of Pristina, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Kosovo said on Tuesday.
PRISTINA, Oct 29 (Hina) - According to incomplete results, Kosovo
President Ibrahim Rugova's Kosovo Democratic Alliance (DSK) has
won the majority of votes at last Saturday's local election in 19
municipalities, including the capital of Pristina, the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission
to Kosovo said on Tuesday. #L#
Hashim Thaqi's Democratic Party of Kosovo has won in seven
municipalities, while Serb parties won in three northern and one
southern municipality.
The Alliance for Kosovo's Future has a relative majority in several
municipalities but will not be able to constitute the authorities
without forming coalitions, said OSCE's Susan Cardunff.
Of 1.32 million eligible voters, 713,000 voted, i.e the turnout was
54 percent.
Thirteen percent of votes have still not been processed, those from
Kosovo refugees in Serbia and Montenegro and from employees in
various services who voted before Saturday.
The final results of Kosovo's second municipal election will be
revealed on Thursday or Friday.
