of the local election in Kosovo, but in some municipalities Rugova's DSK lost its absolute majority.

The second strongest party - the Democratic Party of Kosovo led by
Hashim Thaqi - will remain the second-ranked, although in some
municipalities it gained more votes in comparison to the previous
local elections.
The Alliance for Kosovo's Future led by Ramush Haradinaj also
showed some progress, and stand chances to come in power in some
municipalities in western Kosovo.
Serb radicals are likely to take over the authorities in four
municipalities predominantly populated by Serbs, and thus they
will replace the Serb coalition called "Return".
Cities such as Pristina, Prizren, Mitrovica, Urosevac and Gnjilani
will remain under the control of Rugova's party.
Western municipalities such as Djakovica, Pec and Decani seem to
favour the Alliance for Kosovo's future. Rural areas such as
Srbica, Glogovac, Stimlje, Malisevo, Kacenik and Lipljan will
remain under control Thaqi's Democratic Party of Kosovo.
