A total of 1.3 million voters will vote for 68 parties which have
nominated 5,500 candidates. The voters will elect 920 municipal
representatives for a mandate of four years.
According to first reports, the voting is proceeding without
problems and the turnout is high. Kosovo Serbs have decided,
despite calls by the international community, to vote in only five
municipalities where they are in the majority, while in other
municipalities they are boycotting the elections.
Preliminary results will be known on Monday, while the final
results will be announced by the end of next week.
