MOSTAR, Sept 29 (Hina) - A coalition led by the Croatian Democratic Union party of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ) and its presidential candidate Dragan Covic will receive about 70 percent of Bosnian Croats' votes at general elections on October 5, says a poll carried out by the FIBRO independent agency from Mostar.
MOSTAR, Sept 29 (Hina) - A coalition led by the Croatian Democratic Union party of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ) and its presidential candidate Dragan Covic will receive about 70 percent of Bosnian Croats' votes at general elections on October 5, says a poll carried out by the FIBRO independent agency from Mostar. #L# The poll carried out in the Bosnian Federation indicates that 87 percent of Croats would be voting in the election. According to the poll, Covic received 72 percent of votes, FIBRO said on Sunday. Far after Covic are Mijo Anic, a candidate of the New Croat Initiative with 10 percent of votes, and Mladen Ivankovic, a co- owner of the Lijanovici meat industry with seven percent of Croat votes. About four percent of Croats would vote for Republican Stjepan Kljuic, and three percent for Zarko Misic of the Croat Christian Democratic Union and Zeljko Koroman of the Croat Right Bloc. One percent voted for Marinko Brkic, while none of the 2,200 Croats questioned would give their vote to Karmela Osmanovic, the only woman candidate for the Croat member of the Bosnian Presidency. Sixty-nine percent of Croats would give their votes to the Croatian Democratic Union and Croat democratic Christians coalition, eight percent to the New Croat Initiative, five percent to the Croatian Party of Rights and the same number of votes to the Pro-European People's Party. According to the current attitude of the Croat electorate, the Croatian Christian Democratic Union and the Economic Bloc "HDZ for Progress" would be receiving four percent of votes each. The Croat rightist bloc would receive two percent of Croat votes, while the Social Democratic Party, Croatian Peasants' Party and the republicans would expect one percent of votes each. (hina) lml
