Dpa agency reported on Sunday that the election day was marred by
the shooting of an Albanian party activist by a member of a rival
Albanian group in a village south of Skopje.
"Except for a few minor incidents, the elections are taking place in
a peaceful manner," Tanevski said.
The state electoral commission said voter turnout exceeded 50
percent three hours before polling booths closed, indicating
relatively brisk voting.
