The Electoral Commission had by Tuesday received lists of
candidates from the Democratic List for a European Montenegro -
Milo Djukanovic and from the Serb Radical Party.
The President of the Montenegrin parliament, Vesna Perovic, said on
Tuesday during talks with France's Ambassador to Belgrade,
Gabriele Keller, that conditions for parliamentary elections were
not set up in Montenegro because the country still did not have a
Constitutional Court.
Candidates for the judges of that highest judicial body, whose
mandate expired two months ago were proposed by President Milo
Djukanovic but the new parliamentary majority did not accept them.
Montenegrin head of state Djukanovic announced the possibility
that before the end of Tuesday, he could propose new candidates for
Constitutional Court judges. He reminded that a session of the
Montenegrin parliament could be convened within 24 hours, at the
President's initiative. This would be a key moment to decide on
extraordinary parliamentary elections in Montenegro.
