ZAGREB, Sept 20 (Hina) - During the morning session on Friday the Croatian parliament discussed a draft National Youth Programme for the period 2003 to 2008, which should, by announcements by the proposer (the government), show a
clear and long-standing determination for the permanent welfare of the young aged between 15 & 29.

Croatian parliament discussed a draft National Youth Programme for
the period 2003 to 2008, which should, by announcements by the
proposer (the government), show a clear and long-standing
determination for the permanent welfare of the young aged between

The programme lists about a hundred measures that the state and
local institutions should undertake in that period in an effort to
motivate creativity, mobility and the level of information
available to the young and bring an end to their marginalisation in
economic, political and other processes.
Party benches, with the exception of the Croatian Bloc (HB)
announced that they would support the programme because it was the
first of its kind in Croatia relating to the young. There were
objections, however, that precise measures were not specified with
a specific time frame. These are the reasons why the HB did not
uphold the programme.
