At the first session after the summer break, MPs will discuss a 45-
item agenda.
The session is planned to last two weeks, with a possibility of
being prolonged for another week, parliament president Zlatko
Tomcic told reporters.
According to the current plans, the parliament should discuss the
state budget and related laws in November. The session could last,
without a break, until mid-December, the constitutional deadline
for the regular parliamentary autumn session.
Reporters also wondered when a Croatian Democratic Union's demand
for Prime Minister Ivica Racan's resignation would be included in
the agenda.
This decision will not be made by either the president or the
presidency of the parliament, it is regulated by the Constitution
and the law, Tomcic said, and added that according to the
Constitution, motions were automatically included on the agenda
and had to be discussed within 30 days.
According to parliament vice president Mato Arlovic, there are no
constitutional and legal obstacles to including the motion on the
agenda. Arlovic said, however, that according to the unwritten,
moral rule, the new government is given a 100-day "break".
