The 13-member Norwegian delegation is headed by foreign affairs
committee chairman Thornbjorn Jagland, a former prime and foreign
minister.
Tomcic said Norwegian-Croatian political relations were good. He
thanked Norway for the continued assistance in a series of projects
ranging from demining, refugee returns, and environmental
protection.
Norway's assistance to Croatia amounts to an annual 100 million
kuna (EUR13.5 million), said Zdravko Tomac, chairman of the
Croatian parliamentary committee on foreign affairs.
Today's talks addressed the possibility of parliamentary
cooperation at the highest level. The president of the Norwegian
parliament, Joergen Kosmo, has been invited to visit Croatia.
Jagland said that Norway appreciated Croatia's outstanding role in
the stabilisation of the region, and supported Croatia's admission
to NATO and the European Union.
As for Croatian-Norwegian economic cooperation, Jagland singled
out the oil industry, shipbuilding, mariculture, and tourism.
