The construction and equipment of the building was entirely
financed by the Culture Ministry.
By having reconstructed restoration institutes in Ludbreg, Osijek,
and Zadar, the Ministry shows that it appreciates the protection of
cultural heritage, Vujic said.
Institute director Ferdinand Meder said that the 1991 aggression on
Croatia imposed the need to develop restoration work due to
numerous destroyed monuments.
The new building tonight hosted an exhibition of 25 exceptionally
valuable restored artefacts, dating back to the Roman times through
the early 18th century.
