After the talks with Premier Simeon de Saxe-Cobourg, Mesic said the
two countries co-operated very well but they had not yet used all
the potentials for the enhancement of the economic cooperation. The
Croatian president hopes that the recently signed agreement on
cleaning the Danube and the restoration of this navigable waterway
would contribute to this goal.
Bulgarian President together with Premier and some business people
will soon visit Zagreb, and this will be an opportunity for the
further discussion on the promotion of relations.
The talks between Mesic and Mongolian President Bagabandi
Natsangui was the first meeting at the top level between the two
countries.
"Croatian companies are already present in Mongolia, but I expect
greater cooperation in all fields, and we must create legislative
preconditions for it and enable business people to contact with
each other. I invited Mongolian President to visit Croatia, asking
him to be accompanied by business people on that occasion,"
President Mesic said.
On Saturday evening the Croatian head of state will receive the
Crans Montana Foundation's award for the promotion of peace,
democracy and international cooperation.
