Croatian People's Party said on Thursday the coalition was not in
crisis and that talking about early elections was harmful and
useless. #L#
Talking to reporters in the eastern town of Osijek, Vesna Pusic
evaluated there would be no early elections.
Pusic further stated that it was "inadmissible to have problems in
one party, the HSLS (Social Liberals), break across the back of the
entire coalition, which means across the back of the whole state."
Asked to comment on the HSLS leadership's decision to oppose the
ratification of an ownership deal with Slovenia on the nuclear
power plant at Krsko, Pusic said a mistake was made when not all
coalition partners were included in negotiations on the deal.
Pusic maintains the deal should be signed and that it did not
represent a bad solution for Croatia. It will enable Croatia to show
good will for and good conduct in the settlement of contentious
issues with Slovenia, she said.
