LJUBLJANA, June 20 (Hina) - The Slovene government at Thursday's
session set the price of electricity from the Krsko nuclear power
plant if the agreement on the plant is not ratified by the Croatian
government by the end of the month. #L#
"We are prepared to deliver electricity to the Croatian utility
company HEP at a price of 29.697 euros per megawatt of electricity
from the plant, and the price will be valid until June 30 of next
year," Slovene Environment and Zoning Minister Janez Kopac said
after the government session.
He said the government would ask the Constitutional Court, which
was asked to ascertain whether the agreement on Krsko was in
accordance with the Constitution, to make its ruling as soon as
possible so that the agreement could come into effect on July 1, as
planned, should it be ratified.
Kopac said that the act by 31 MPs who sent the agreement to the
Constitutional Court was irrational and harmful for Slovenia.
The minister said that the price of electricity which the
government set included the expenses for the decomposition of the
nuclear plant, but not Value Added Tax, but not the expenses of
transporting electricity.
