SLOVENIA ORDERS STUDY TO PURCHASE CROATIAN PART OF KRSKO PLANT

LJUBLJANA, June 19 (Hina) - The Slovene government has ordered "British Energy" to complete a study of the value of the Krsko nuclear power plant so that Slovenia can prepare to purchase Croatia's share, Slovene radio reported. It said that results were not officially known, but the Croatian share in the plant is probably worth less that a billion US dollars, the radio said.

It said that results were not officially known, but the Croatian share in the plant is probably worth less that a billion US dollars, the radio said. #L# The radio recalled that the agreement on the nuclear power plant -- which will probably not be realised -- envisaged market, not investment value in case of negotiations on purchase. The market value of the plant is significantly lower today, and the value of the Croatian share will be calculated by subtracting the value of work and fuel from the value of undelivered electricity in a certain period, says the radio. In case of negotiations on purchase, the Slovene side will advocate the thesis that an agreement was signed, although not ratifies, which is valid in its financial section, and will not concede to arbitration, the radio said.
