The experts agreed that the agreement should not be ratified,
explaining it was much more unfavourable than existing documents
from the economic and security aspects.
Croatian president's advisor for energy, Esad Prohic, said that
international arbitration would be more favourable for Croatia. He
said that the ratification of such an agreement would cost the state
three to five billion kuna.
He recalled that although Croatia was a co-owner of the plant, it
had been receiving electricity from Krsko at unfavourable prices,
and the new agreement offered no compensation for lost funds, but
simply ignored the fact.
Experts also warned about insufficient capacity for storing
radioactive waste, and the possibility of the plant's early
decommission, which would create additional cost.
