"The energy of the social partners and the entire public should be
directed at reaching a consensus regarding employment, the social
policy, the policy of prices and wages, and the promotion of
collective bargaining," Begovic told domestic and foreign
businessmen at Zagreb's Opera hotel.
Begovic spoke about the significance of social partnership and how
it can help in attracting investors. The event was organised by the
United States Chamber of Commerce branch in Croatia.
Begovic recalled that the Economic-Social Council was established
in March 2000, gathering representatives of the government,
employers, and unions. They meet regularly to discuss the solving
of economic and social issues, from local to national level.
