ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Deputy Zagreb municipal state prosecutor and prosecutor in the trial of the so-called "small mob", Gordana Klaric, said on Wednesday she would appeal against the acquittal of Nikica Jelavic and another four
members of the "small mob". Klaric told Hina part of the verdict of the court of first instance was contradictory and there was ground for contesting it, but she would not say what she would base her appeal on. Jelavic, Zoran Pripuz, Blaz Petrovic, Zeljko Vinkesevic and Ivan Geceg were acquitted by the court of first instance due to lack of evidence, and charges of million-kuna worth frauds, extortion and money-laundering were dropped. Once it receives the explanation for the verdict in writing, the Zagreb Municipality Prosecutor's Office has 15 days to submit its appeal to a court of appeals, which in this case is the Zagreb County Court.(hina) sb rml
