SPLIT COURT PROLONGS DETENTION FOR LORA WAR CRIMES SUSPECTS SPLIT, Dec 28 (Hina) - A Split County Court investigating judge on Friday prolonged at the request of the County Prosecutor detention for seven of eight persons suspected of
committing war crimes, mostly against Serb civilians, at the military prison Lora in Split in 1992. Some 30 witnesses have been questioned during the investigative proceedings so far, but since they have not been completed as more witnesses have to be questioned, the Prosecutor requested that the suspects remain in custody to prevent them from influencing witness or escaping. The whereabouts of the eighth indictee, Tomislav Duic, the commander of the Lora military prison in 1992, are still not known.(hina) sb rml
