Prosecutor's Office suggested that the investigating judge in the case redefine the criminal act Draca is suspected of and apply the Amnesty Law. Draca has been cleared of suspicion of war crimes, and pardoned for armed rebellion in line with the 1996 Amnesty Law. Born in the central Adriatic town of Zadar, Draca was arrested May 31, 2001 in Hungary on the basis of an international arrest warrant, due to an investigation conducted against him by the Zadar County Court. Acting in line with a Croatian Justice Ministry extradition request, the Hungarian authorities handed him over to Croatia in early November.
