The author addresses issues faced by modern man - the relationship
between crime and forgiveness, justice and punishment,
responsibility and historical truth, deceit and manipulation,
selective memory and other things, said Bozo Rudez, director of the
"Prometheus" publishing house.
This is a very valuable work, and not everything the author has
written in it has to be accepted, said Zarko Puhovski, a professor
at the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy. Puhovski believes that the
book is too educational to achieve great success on the Croatian
market.
The head of the Belgrade-based Centre for Cultural
Decontamination, Borka Pavicevic, said the author was dealing with
the issue of constant recycling of history in relation to a certain
political moment, which she said was evident in her country from
changes in textbook contents, the renaming of streets, and the
complete revision of World War II.
Erna Paris was today also received by President Stjepan Mesic.
