Economy Ministry on Monday. #L#
The book is intended for people who are interested in international
trade and focuses on advantages as well as commitments which come
with membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Economy
Minister Ljubo Jurcic said.
After seven years of a long and complex process, Croatia joined the
WTO on November 30, 2000 as its 140th member.
The book includes all agreements and decisions which have been
adjusted by the completion of the Uruguay round. The round was
started in 1986 and successfully completed in April 1994 at a
ministerial meeting in Marrakesh by the adoption of the Final Act
and the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO.
The WTO started to work on January 1, 1995. Today it has 148 members,
while 25 countries are in the process of joining.
