Speaking about the situation in the country, Suvar said the ruling
coalition "has disappointed most citizens" because it "has
continued the sale of national resources, failed to put an end to
the stagnation of main industrial branches, and sold all banks to
foreigners".
"The policy of the right and the policy of the Social Democratic
Party, assisted by the LS (Liberal Party), Libra, the PGS
(Primorje-Gorski Kotar Alliance), the IDS (Istrian Democratic
Assembly) and the SBHS (Croatian Party of Slavonija and Baranja),
which are riding on its coat-tails, are becoming increasingly
similar and Croatia's prospects with them are not good," Suvar
said.
He estimated that the ruling coalition will manage to muster a
"narrow victory" in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Croatia will not be able to join the European community until the
case of runaway general Ante Gotovina is solved, Suvar said, adding
that three to four new indictments would arrive in Croatia from The
Hague.
