"There are no thieves who took part in the 'tycoonisation' of
Croatia, traitors or bad people in the HPS," party leader Tomislav
Mercep said, calling on the electorate to vote for his party, which
he said was a party of ordinary people.
He added that members of his party "love other citizens who love
their country and have never done wrong", which was why they
nominated members of the Romany minority as candidates on the
minority slate.
"We are not like the Social Democrats who spend borrowed money, we
are not like the Christian Democrats who fake forgiveness, we are
people's people who have one motto: 'Treat friends as friends, and
when it comes to enemies, pay back in the same coin twice so they
don't forget'", Mercep said.
