ZAGREB, Nov 6 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan on Thursday received Dutch Defence Minister Henricius Gregorius Jozeph Kamp who is on an official visit to Croatia, the government's public relations office said in a
statement.

Racan informed the Dutch official of the current political and
economic situation, stressing that Croatia was a stable country in
a not so stable region. The PM also informed his guest of the
successful reforms the Croatian government was implementing.
Minister Kamp stressed that Croatia's stability contributed to the
stability of the wider region. Hailing the country's achievements
over the last several years, the Dutch official said Croatia was a
modern European country and that the Netherlands was interested in
continuing the good political and economic cooperation.
Croatia laid good foundations to become an important factor in
Europe's future, the statement quoted Kamp as saying.
Racan and his guest also spoke about Croatia's cooperation with the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the
November 23 parliamentary election.
Foreign Minister Tonino Picula also held talks with the Dutch
defence minister.
According to a statement issued by the foreign ministry the talks
focused on Croatia's candidacy for membership of NATO and the
European Union. Minister Kamp expressed his country's support to
Croatia's candidacy, stressing that good results in implementing
reforms were clearly visible, the statement said.
