OSIJEK, Oct 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Ministry of Justice, Administration and Local Self-Administration has informed the Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) branch in Osijek-Baranja County that according to available data, all prerequisites have been met for dissolving the Osijek-Baranja County's Assembly as this body has not been convened for over three months and could not make any decision in that time. #L# According to a letter sent by the ministry to the HDZ party on Monday, this ministry is authorised to propose the dissolution of a legislative body to the Croatian government. In addition, it is necessary to propose the government's commissioner in the said county until new elections for the assembly. In early April this year, 26 deputies of the HDZ, the Croatian Social, Liberal Party (HSLS) and the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) offered resignation from the position of assembly members, and the three parties insisted on the dissolution of the assembly, claiming it lacked a quorum. The Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) appointed another party member to replace its former deputy, Stjepan Rob, who joined the HDZ party and also resigned from the post of assembly member. After that the assembly continued working, which was at the time confirmed by the justice ministry and the government, but this decision was contested by the Croatian Administrative Court. Representatives of the ruling coalition (Social Democrats, the Liberal Party, Libra and the HSS) have announced that they will appeal against the Administrative Court's ruling at the Constitutional Court.
