ZAGREB, Sept 22 (Hina) - Croatia's Foreign Ministry on Monday denied allegations released in Monday's issue of "Slobodna Dalmacija" daily in an article saying that the UNICEF rejected to appoint Dijana Plestina as an ambassador to
that organisation, pointing out that Croatia's Mission to the UN did not receive any instruction to lobby for Ms. Plestina - Premier Racan's wife - to become an ambassador to the UNICEF.

Dalmacija" daily in an article saying that the UNICEF rejected to
appoint Dijana Plestina as an ambassador to that organisation,
pointing out that Croatia's Mission to the UN did not receive any
instruction to lobby for Ms. Plestina - Premier Racan's wife - to

"It is not true that Croatia's Mission to the UN was instructed to
lobby for Dijana Plestina to become an ambassador to the UNICEF,"
the foreign ministry's statement said, adding that the author of
the article in the press, Tomislav Klauski, never contacted the
Ministry concerning the matter, nor the Croatian Mission to the
UN.
