For the sake of providing complete and correct information, the
ministry issued a statement saying that the German Foreign Ministry
every two years sent a circular note to inform all diplomatic
missions and consular offices in Germany about foreign countries'
organising elections on the German territory.
"The Croatian Embassy in Berlin on July 14 received a circular note
from the German Foreign Ministry noting that requests for the
consent of the German Foreign Ministry must be submitted two months
before the planned election day at the latest. If timely submission
of the request is prevented by a delay in setting the date of
elections or some other objective obstacle which is within the
jurisdiction of the country submitting the request, the request
must be submitted without delay once the obstacle is removed.
The requesting country cannot count on a permission if the request
was received by the German Foreign Ministry less than three weeks
before the election day," said the ministry.
With regard to elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the consent of the
recipient country in case of all previous elections was requested
immediately after elections were called, and was granted in all
cases, the ministry said.
