ZAGREB, Aug 23 (Hina) - The fire which broke out on Friday in the area of Knin and Kistanje in Sibenik-Knin County was contained last night. Firefighters have been controlling the fire site, the State Information Centre reported on

area of Knin and Kistanje in Sibenik-Knin County was contained last

The fire has consumed some 85 hectares of grass, underbrush and
juniper forest.
Another 40 hectares of land were consumed in a fire which broke out
yesterday in the area of Debelo Brdo near Knin. The fire was
contained in the evening.
The fire which had been burning in the area of Dolac, reactivated
yesterday, spreading from the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina 300-
400 metres deep into Croatian territory. The fire was contained
yesterday.
The fire which has been burning on the north-western slopes of Mt.
Velebit is still ablaze due to inaccessible terrain. Firefighting
planes are controlling the fire site.
Some 150 hectares of underbrush and pine forest were consumed in a
fire which broke out in the area of Gracac yesterday. The fire was
contained late in the afternoon.
Another 40 hectares of land have been consumed in a fire which broke
out at Kosinjski Bakovac in Lika-Senj County yesterday. The fire is
not being put out due to inaccessible terrain.
