ZAGREB, Aug 14 (Hina) - A fire which has been ablaze on Mt. Ucka for several days was on Thursday contained on Ucka's western slopes, while the fire on the eastern slopes is still active in a smaller area, the National Information
Centre reported today.

A big fire erupted at a military training grounds near Pazin in
Istria today. The fire has affected underbrush and a pine forest,
but there is still no information about the size of the affected
area. The fire is carried by a strong southerly wind towards two
nearby forests.
The fire in a large area on the southern island of Hvar has not yet
been contained.
A fire broke out in the Imotski region, on the border with Bosnia,
around noon today. The fire, which has affected some ten hectares of
deciduous forest and underbrush, has not yet been completely
contained.
Several fires also broke out in Sisak-Moslavina County today and in
the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park where the blazes caught grass and
underbrush. There is a possibility of the fire spreading to a nearby
forest.
Several fires that erupted in Zadar County today were contained at
around 1700 hours.
