Minister of Serbia and Montenegro Boris Tadic has said. #L#
"As far as we are concerned, war will certainly be avoided. I
guarantee that particularly for the Army of Serbia and Montenegro,
which has not once been a factor of destabilisation since the
democratic change of government, nor will it be in the future,"
Tadic told the Belgrade-based Blic daily in an interview published
on Friday.
"I want to believe that each relevant international institution
will do its utmost to ensure that war is avoided. Serbia and
Montenegro will certainly not do anything that would contribute to
an escalation (of the situation)," he added.
Tadic described Wednesday's killing of two Serb teenagers and
wounding of another four by unidentified gunmen at Gorazdevac in
western Kosovo as "one of the most monstrous terrorist crimes in
Europe in recent years," adding that "the failure or lack of
readiness by competent authorities, notably KFOR, to respond
deserves the strongest possible condemnation."
