One million kuna (EUR133,000) was invested into the playground
which was constructed by US Navy and Croatian Army engineers during
a joint military exercise called "Adriatic Phiblex 2003" which
started on June 2 and ended today.
Frank said that the construction of the playground proved that
cooperation between the two countries' armed forces was to the
benefit of Croatian citizens.
Another joint military exercise is planned for next spring, during
which an 11km-long water pipeline will be constructed from Slunj to
Furjan. The project has been drawn up by the Croatian Ministry of
Public Works, Reconstruction and Construction, said Lieutenant
Colonel Eugen Njari, commander of the Croatian forces that
participated in the manoeuvres.
